Hello and greetings to you all!
Welcome to Konini Primary School.
Our mission "Loving Learning Together - Aroha tahi, Ako tahi" guides how students, parents, whānau and staff support each other in our community of learning.
Konini Primary School is situated in Wainuiomata Valley and reopened under this name in 2003 when Parkway Primary School and Sun Valley School merged on the Parkway Primary School site. Konini Primary School provides education for students in years 1 to 6.
As you will have seen there has been a decision to upgrade the Covid Alert Level overnight.
The Alert Level for our Greater Wellington Region is Level 2 from midday today Wednesday 12 August. At this stage Alert Level 2 is in place until Friday 14 August at midnight.
While this all seems to have happened suddenly, we have an Alert Level 2 - Health and Safety Plan and can quickly put this into place here at school. Our Alert Level 2 plan will be implemented from midday today.
That means parents can arrive earlier to pick up children, beginning with junior children at 2.30pm (with siblings) and senior children at 2.40pm. Please wait outside the internal gate and your child/ren will be sent out to you. Please continue to use the ‘entry’ pathway and ‘exit’ driveway.
At Alert Level 2 it is safe for children to attend school. However, please keep your child at home if they are unwell and contact the school to advise us of this.
Tomorrow morning, if you choose to come into the school grounds to drop your child off, please sign the contact tracing register and use the Government Covid Tracker App to track your own movement. Please also sign classroom contact tracing registers if you go inside classrooms.
Teachers will revisit hygiene practices with students, in particular:
hand washing before food, after the toilet and at other necessary times
cough and sneeze into arm or tissue
We have postponed school photos, due to take place this Friday 14 August, and will notify you of the new date when this is confirmed with the photographer.
If you would like to clarify anything about the Alert Level 2 plan, or discuss any other matter, please feel free to email me email@example.com or ring the office.
