The review of the Konini Primary School’s Charter and the development of a new Strategic Plan is about to begin. We hope that the process outlined below will provide an opportunity for everyone who has a stake in Konini Primary School to express their opinion on the school and their dreams for its future. To have your say, all you need to do is follow these 4 easy steps: Step 1. The process. Read this letter, which outlines the process and the time line for review. Send any written comments, suggestions, or ideas to improve the process, care of school, or phone a board member. Step 2. The questions. A list of questions will be sent to all parents, staff and students. Please take the time to reply. Your opinion DOES matter. Step 3. Consultation groups. We realize that survey questions often get a limited response, and that some people prefer to share their views in other ways. There will be opportunities for meetings of both targeted and general groups, for informal, friendly discussion. In this way we hope to cover all the specific interest groups within the school community. Step 4. Final consultation. After all the information has been received the Board will collate it into a useable format, and there will be an opportunity for final comment. The Board of Trustees will then put together the final document, which will be published and implemented in later his year Why the review? It is important that the long-term future of Konini Primary School is planned in a logical way. Who prepares the final plan? The Board of Trustees is accountable to the government for the long-term future of the school, and as such will have the responsibility of putting the plan together. It is very important that we gather input from our community so that the plan reflects your wishes as much as possible. Konini Primary School is a community school, and we need to be sure that our community supports the directions the Board takes. Please make sure that you have your say. We look forward to meeting many new (and old!) faces in the next few months, and feel very excited about the future of Konini Primary School. |
